Questions worth asking before you pay
What happens at the end of the 14 days?
If you have not cancelled, the subscription starts and you are charged $59.99 for the year, or $9.99 for the month, depending on the plan you chose. That figure includes any VAT or sales tax due where you live: it is the total, not a net price with tax added on top. We remind you two days before it happens: in the app on every platform, and by email as well if you subscribed here on the web or through the App Store. If you cancel at any point during the 14 days you are not charged at all and you keep the free tier.
How do I cancel, and where?
Wherever you subscribed, and it is three different places. On iPhone or iPad: Settings, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, then Mindima, then Cancel Subscription. On Android: open Google Play, tap your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, then Mindima, then Cancel. On the web: your account page on mindima.com, which opens the Stripe billing portal. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep Premium until the period you have already paid for runs out. We cannot cancel an App Store or Play subscription for you, because the store holds it, not us.
What happens to my data if I stop paying?
The catalog re-locks: you go back to the free set. Nothing else is taken away. Every session you have ever recorded stays on your device, uncapped, and your encrypted backup and restore keep working, so you can still lose your phone and get your record back. What stops is syncing live across devices, the full year of history views, and the web dashboard.
Do I need an account to use the free tier?
No. Install the app and start. An account is only needed for things that touch a server: encrypted backup and restore, syncing across devices, and the web dashboard. Backup and restore are free, so an account is worth having even if you never subscribe, but nothing forces you.
Is my data private?
Your record is encrypted on your device before it is uploaded, and we never hold the key, so we cannot read your backups. Survey answers and anything you write into a tool never leave your device in any form we can read. The full position is on our privacy page, and it is worth reading rather than taking our word for here.
Refunds: whose policy applies?
It depends where you bought, and there are three different answers. An App Store purchase is refunded by Apple under Apple policy, through reportaproblem.apple.com. A Google Play purchase is refunded by Google under Play policy. A purchase made directly on mindima.com is ours: contact us, and applicable consumer law governs. We cannot refund a store purchase even if we want to, because we never received the money directly.
A subscription bought on any platform works on all of them. One account, one price, every device.
