Steady attention under distraction: selective focus, tracking, and inhibition.
Focus & Attention games in detail
- Number Search
- Tap every number that fits the rule, greater-than, multiples, or in range, before the board clears. Trains number sense, selective attention, visual scanning. Practice it in Focus & Attention, Analytical Thinking.
- Ball Tracker
- Follow one of several moving objects without losing track when they overlap. Trains multi object tracking, selective visual attention. Practice it in Focus & Attention, Adaptability.
- Even Odds
- Tap every number matching the active rule, which switches each board and widens from even or odd to multiples, thresholds, NOT rules and two-part rules as you climb, while the board grows and the decoys thicken. Decoys sit right at the boundary, so you have to apply the rule, not eyeball it. A rule-apply and set-shift sweep against the clock. Trains number categorization, selective attention, processing speed. Practice it in Focus & Attention, Analytical Thinking.
- Stroop
- The word RED in blue ink, tap the ink color, not the word, and switch to tapping the word itself when the prompt flips. Trains cognitive control and set-shifting. Trains cognitive control, interference suppression. Practice it in Focus & Attention, Stress & Anger, Adaptability.
- Odd One Out
- Each round names a feature. Two shapes stand out; tap the one that differs in the named feature and resist the lure. Trains selective attention, feature discrimination, inhibitory control. Practice it in Focus & Attention.
- Spot the Difference
- One scene blinks between two versions with a blank in between, so the change is hidden from the giveaway flash. Hold the scene in mind and tap what changed. Trains change detection and visual working memory, not eyesight. Trains change detection, visual working memory, scanning. Practice it in Focus & Attention, Memory.
- Time Estimation
- Tap when you feel the target duration has passed, no visible timer. Trains time perception, interoception, internal clock. Practice it in Focus & Attention, Stress & Anger.
- Sudoku
- Fill the grid so every row, column, and box contains each digit exactly once. Trains constraint reasoning, working memory, deductive logic. Practice it in Analytical Thinking, Decision Making.
- Orbit
- Gravity curves a comet around a core, thrust it through each glowing gate by reading the arc. Trains trajectory prediction, planning, spatial control. Practice it in Analytical Thinking, Focus.
- Reveal
- A shape emerges from a field of visual noise. Tap it the instant you see it, the earlier, the better. Trains figure ground, visual segmentation, perception. Practice it in Focus, Perception.
- Solstice
- Fill the open cells with suns and moons, balancing each row and column around the void cells: never three in a line, equal counts among the open cells, and = / × links between cells. Trains deductive logic, constraint reasoning, pattern recognition. Practice it in Analytical Thinking, Decision Making.
- Lumen
- Place lanterns to light the room while routing their beams around the shadow cells that must stay dark, with no two lanterns in sight of each other and each numbered wall taking exactly its count of neighbours. Trains deductive logic, constraint reasoning, spatial reasoning. Practice it in Analytical Thinking, Decision Making.
- Ember
- Shade the repeated numbers so none touch and every unshaded cell stays connected in one piece. Trains deductive logic, constraint reasoning, pattern recognition. Practice it in Analytical Thinking, Decision Making.
- Duet
- Two orbs circle two rings at different speeds, each with its own glowing gate. Tap a side while its orb is inside its gate; a gate that slips past untapped is a miss. The rings never share a rhythm, so both must be watched at once. Trains divided attention, sustained attention, multi object tracking. Practice it in Focus & Attention, Adaptability.
- Aloft
- Paper lanterns sink toward the water; a tap sends one climbing again. With several falling at different heights and rates, the game is deciding which lantern needs you next: a continuous priority queue, run in the head. Trains attention scheduling, sustained attention, trajectory prediction. Practice it in Focus & Attention, Adaptability.
- Cast
- One word, and four of these twenty belong to it. Four others are close enough to be tempting and belong to nothing. One contradicts the clue outright, and touching it ends the board. Trains semantic inhibition, category membership, stopping decision, hypothesis revision. Practice it in Focus, Communication.
